ISO 3834 - Part 3: AGS is the first company to be awarded the ISO 3834 - Part 3 "Quality Requirements for Fusion Welding of Metallic Materials" certificate in South Africa. The certificate was personally handed over to AGS by management of the SAIW (South African Institute of Welding). This is a further step by AGS to ensure our clients a high quality of workmanship in-line with international best practices and standards.

 

June 2010

Medupi Project: The manufacturing of the bagfilter units for Medupi power station is going according to programme. Erection of the first unit to commence end of 2010. AGS has also started with the manufacturing for Kusile Power Station, with site establishment planned for August this year.

 

January 2010

Matla Power Station: AGS have succcessfully completed its section of the refurbishment of Matla Unit 3. The next unit is due to be refurbished mid/end 2010. The refurbishment of the ESPs (Electrostatic Precipitators) will ensure that Matla Power Station's emissions are in compliance with international requirements.

 

May 2010

Skills Training: AGS would like to welcome its new Training Officer, Logan Pillay, to the team. Logan is tasked with setting up AGS' recently completed training centre to ensure that all of AGS' employees are further trained in welding, boilermaking or general handling of power tools, etc. AGS will also provide Merseta registered short courses with full learnerships being the final goal.
