DB Thermal award AGS the contract for the manufacturing and erection of a large portion of the bag-filters for operation at ESKOM's new Medupi and Kusile Power Stations, which are intended to resolve South Africas current power shortages. Medupi will be the largest dry-cooled coal fired power station in the world. Together, the contract value for AGS is close to R 1 billion Rand. Both power stations are scheduled to be be operational by 2015.

 

February 2009

To accommodate for recent growth and to prepare for the future, AGS has purchased another worshop. The workshop is situated in Alrode and consists of 5000 m2 roofed area, including three 5 ton and one 25 ton overhead crane, as well as all necessary equipment to fabricate and manufacture around 300 tons per month. The property also boasts a large, secure lay-down area.

 

December 2008

Hamon awards AGS with the contract for the refurbishment of the all 6 Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP) for Matla Power Station, with one ESP being refurbished per year for the next 6 years.

 

November 2008

ABET: As part of our skills development programme AGS is now providing Adult Basic Education Training (ABET) for its employees. This long-term programme is aimed at providing basic English communication skills, as well as promoting literacy and numeric skills.
